Ditto X2 Footswitches
Anyone have problems with theirs?
Mine was kind of being funky last night
Opened it up to find spring loaded foot switches.
Why is this a thing..
Are they replaceable like the DL4?

Never had a problem with mine. But it is a similar mechanism to the dl4. I've seen one dude replace the switch with an arcade button in the mini ditto. I don't know if there would be room for a soft touch.

Re: Ditto X2 Footswitches
I'm sure you could replace it, but it's tougher than with a DL4 because there's not a lot of room. Basically just have to desolder the contact switch and wire in an SPST's lugs to the appropriate terminals. Not sure there's room in there, to maneuver, or to fit the new switch. Rehouse!

Re: Ditto X2 Footswitches
I've seen other chatter about their switches, but mostly on the Dittos. I suppose they get stomped on a bit more often than any of the other effects. There was enough people with issues to steer me away from trying a Ditto X2 or X4, choosing to stick with my DL4s, one of which is a first year pedal and still going strong with original switches. Go figure.
Good to know FX Doctor has proven replacement switches will work. But if you mail him your pedal will he send you a box of rocks in return?
An arcade button would be cool. There are shallow buttons if you look hard enough, most are deep though.

These switch most likely need to be replace by TC or I've read you can replace them with a momentary switch, but you're going to have to know what you're doing. They are custom switches, so not easy to work with. Spring loaded on the inside. Stupid design btw.

Re: Ditto X2 Footswitches
So I replaced the switches with the same clickless 2 pole switches you would on a DL4 annnd it worked. Just have to drill out bigger holes on the enclosure and all should be right as rain. Was a bitch desoldering the old switches, thought for sure I fried the board. Will post pics later for anyone that cares

Hell yes. Very pleased that this worked out for you!
(I tried with with my Boomerang III. It did not work. I had to put it all back together veeeeery carefully, and it was all good. Kinda hate those big pad-type switches...would have been way cooler to have some taller/smaller profile SPST switches to stomp.)

Re: Ditto X2 Footswitches
Thanks dude! Yeh I was always confused by the boomerangs footswitches. They seem like cheap plastic? But I've never messed with one so I don't know
