How about Barber Electronics? There's the Direct Drive (and a Low Gain version), the Tone Pump, Custom Cool, Super Sport.... all their ODs are awesome. :yay:

I recommend ya try out a Singing Tree. I really love mine, and it's got that great medium gain sound and it cuts through the mix pretty easily.

Blackout Mantra? Not sure it's what you're looking for, but it sounds fucking killer.
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

Fourbanger? Four different mix & matchable ODs in one!

I was going to say EHx English Muff'n but saw the "must fit in the gig bag" part.

Karaoke Party, Singing Tree. Those are my suggestions. The Box of Rock is pretty solid if you have a tube amp and the cash.

mmm w/ the mids do you mean more marshally or more tubescreamery?

Eitherway, check out Barber's stuff, maybe one of the direct drives.
The cbread DLS is also worth a shot

Yeah man, that Fairfield "Barbershop" is deceptively subtle. Sounds really awesome but not too over the top. And that dude's enclosures are so badass! Love how simple they are.

I've been looking for an excuse to cram my Camel Sutra into a smaller enclosure..
