Another thing with that analogy is that there isn't much to do about virus based diseases, and they are mostly a result of unfortunate happenstance.
Also I was wondering where you were Nora
I accept noise in some things and hate it in others. The memory loss is a clear example of a noisy pedal where I'm not bothered at all by it, but stuff like the Echo dream 2 drove me crazy.

I get what he's saying. They're both sampling your signal (unless we're talking chip resets), but with that logic the EHX Freeze could be called the EHX Glitch and you would call chorus pedals delayvibrato or whatever. The name comes from the end result, the effect/sound it produces. This pedal clearly creates a freezing/holding effect. It's not a big deal, just kind of funny in light of our discussion on the Recovery Effects "Granular" Ring Mod. Glitch is a trendy word, like granular.
I listened to the demo again and I think the noise is from the verb side. Maybe it's because of a belton brick? The RM 1N does the SAME thing. So I could deal with it.
I really, really fucking want one...

chorus and vibrato are very specifically defined effects. Glitch is a term i see thrown at a lot of different pedals....basically anything that does something weird/stuttery is labeled glitch in the pedal world. Ive even seen things like the rainbow machine labeled glitch.
that said, two effects that i definitely see called glitch a lot are the foxtrot and raptio...both of which have the same functionality of the control being called glitch in this collab.
really boils down to semantics, but just some of my thoughts. i definitely agree that glitch is becoming a buzzword. one day soon, glitch and granular will replace transparent and organic

bricks are noisy, fact of life
That makes sense.
