I am going for the Yamaha spx90 on that track.

I"ve actually got access to an SPX90, but it's better for the 'isnt anything' era My Bloofy Valentine sound than SPacemen3, who were more into analog, vintage gear..What's a 4ms????

ALSO that Spacemen3 list of gear is not chronological the '
ecstasy symphony' stuff was done late 80s..SPiritualised used that phase/drone sound a fair bit.... Pete Kember was hyping Zvex gear in the mid 00s...

That book D.o.S. posted said they used it...it came out in 1985. :idk:

I have a Morley and it doesn't go that slow unless it is was modded or there is some level of variance or they have exceptionally precise feet. However, I do know the Morley was in use in the UK a lot at the time especially on acid house records and mixes.

RNR Vintage in Chicago just e-mailed me, and their first shipment of Aphazing units is en route.

Hmm. That's really glassy, thanks in part to the synth. I would think you could do something similar with a phaser that has resonance and feedback pots. You wouldn't get that much movement with a 2-3 knob phaser. (as lordgalvar noted, it sounds like there's also tremolo for added body, which gives the sweep more presence and character)

I think La Calavera could do something similar at near minimum speeds (it gets quite slow, but not as slow as the Whetstone). Since the Aphazing is also FV-1 based, but with more features, that might be the best route to take. I'll likely order an Aphazing in the coming week for myself, and if so, I'll certainly share the results.

Where are the Aphazing pedals available? I tried some phasers yesterday, I was quite impressed with the Keeley Phase 24, the Moog 103 was stunning but might be a bit indulgent for me needs (and costs over $500Aus!), and I am on the verge of pulling the trigger on a second hand Boss PH-1r HOWEVER stuff moves quickly on the Internerd, and some of the Internets finest muso/pedal demoers have been giving big dibs to this cheap Chinese option that no-one seems to be able to purchase:

The phaser should be on their site, or at their Reverb page shortly. If the expected street price is $169, that'll be $233 AUD (pre-shipping or customs). I imagine RNR Vintage does international shipping, and if not, they should be available at more stores soon.

CKK has been around for a few years, but for some reason has not been able to hook up with many distributors. Most of their pedals were on their site 2-3 years ago, but with no marketplace movement.

Sorry, I was linking to the manufacturer portion of their inventory. When the Aphazing arrives, it will be on that page. I'll post an update whenever I see the Aphazing on either their homepage or their Reverb store.

I tried the Earthquaker Grand Orbiter 2, was mighty impressed, like a beefed up version of the Bad Stone and Keeley Phaser24

Actually not FV-1 based, running a MIPS32 based device in Aphazing. Since we sell and support the FV-1 to other manufacturers we felt it best to not use it ourselves if possible, we want the other manufacturers to feel they can call for support and tell us about their future products.
