The thread was in response to a pretty intense rant someone else made about people buying low and selling high or something to that effect. This thread has sorta diverted into a different direction.

I apologize if I communicated in such a way so as to cause offense. That wasn't my point at all. If the point is famous people making good gear inaccessible, then yes, that sucks. I wouldn't say that good quality stuff should be outrageously priced, but I would certainly say that good quality stuff should always cost more than crap. I couldn't care less about famous people making crap equipment cost more like this:
