The XP pedals are built on the IVL DSP chips, same as the IPS-33b, right? Is it even in the range of possibility to EPROM-hack the Space Station sounds into the 33b that aren't on the 33b natively? Weird stuff to consider even working because it's a much more involved platform and plug and play dumping of XP algorithms and coding could map, er, oddly if at all.
No the XP's used a different DSP that were sold only in Japan back then. The EPROM's on the XP's held presets only, the DSP chip is the same in all of them and was soldered to the board. That is why you could swap out EPROM's and change one into another.

Just looking at the music trends in 98 you can see why the unit failed to gain any traction, or that it was not known for it's easy of programming. It's a shame that recreating it would be a complete do-over, but then re-imaginning it could be a disruptive innovation...

now do a timebender in a 1590bb enclosure (that's the one, right? or maybe one size larger). don't change a thing. just hammond/regular enclosure and soft switch regular stomps. other than that not a thing.

not a thing. shhh..

First thing I thought of when I saw the Ricochet was that would be the perfect implementation for the Space Station. I love my Space Station and I love the Space Station on the Ex-7 but both are too big to put on my board. A Ricochet sized Space Station with the footswitch as the expression pedal? I'd pay for it now and wait a year.

Edit: Also, bear in mind, I did NOT sign the petition because I already have one and it's too big. But I definitely would buy another Space Station in a small enclosure. There ain't nothing out there like it, even after 20 years.

Any new timebender, I would buy. I could just use timebenders for almost all my delays. Better mix knob would be nice, but srsly.

This reminds me of back in the 1990s and I'd try to pre-order rap albums from Sam Goody.
