The best sentence in that piece is "The language barrier is a filter through which only charisma can pass."
Don't care about Arcade Fire or Grimes but I wish there were more sentences like that one in music reviews. Concise ways of describing stylistic preference w/r/t the music at hand.

The only Arcade Fire I liked was Funeral. Like 100% of Canadian rock bands, their regional flavour was their strength. It usually happens right around the time the band gets it into their head that breaking into the US market is a desirable thing to do.
