My friend has a green Big Muff with the large dome-shaped stomp switch. The switch is intermittent, sometimes it doesn't work/takes multiple stomps. I tried spraying De-oxit on it/into it, which didn't fix the problem (that was a few years ago). Now he's broke and needs to sell, but he could get more money if the switch was intact. How come nobody manufactures a replacement switch in this style? I bet there are enough units out there which need a switch replacement, to make it worth doing.
I asked about this a few years ago, and the answer seemed to be "replace it with a new SPDT (or whatever they're called) switch. That's not authentic, breuax.

Hey Guy!
I think the answer is that it's weird russian shit, and a bad design to boot (since they all end up flying apart at some point).
Ain't no-one spending the considerable outlay for tooling up to re-issue a switch which barley worked, and is needed in one iteration of one pedal only.
I'm afraid non authentic, but reliable current production spdt is the only solution.

BC would buy a fully functioning muff, rip the switch out and replace the faulty switch. So you should probably go that route.

Having had, and loved that very type of muff before, I have to agree that yes, shitty switches are what's authentic. This is one of those times when dropping the original is 100% an improvement.K2000 wrote:That's not authentic, breuax.
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

For the sake of interest - is there a diagram of that mechanism anywhere?
