(rad) Genre-inappropriate guitars

Post by goroth »

Post pics or vids of folks playing guitars better associated with one genre in a different genre. Visual cognitive dissonance in guitars.

I don't mean dudes looking awkward as shit with an instrument - like the guy who tried out for my band and turned up with an enormous 6 string bass but he couldn't play for shit.

I mean like Albert King shredding a V.
Etc.

that goroth dude stands out doing this as well :P

sort of tame but... dude from Birds in Row plays a ric quite a lot. I love that and I love their sound but wouldn't be my first choice for chaotic fast screamo hardcore stuff they do :idk:

(although my first choice would be a Jazzmaster, second a Tele, which doesn't seems that different and more genre-traditional)

Love this thread, but can't immediately think of any. I kinda "try" to do this myself though (playing pink and hair metal style guitars in my noiserock/sludgy band)

I think that belongs in the general "inappropriate guitars" thread. :hobbes:
