Re: Count To Five
Okay, another thing in mode 2 - has it been requested for it to behave like this? - so, as one changes the length of the sample and decrease it the pedal will wait until the sample is done playing at a LEN setting previously set and take into account the newly set LEN value only after it has done playing the sample. What if instead it would restart the sample with the new LEN applied as soon as the LEN knob is touched? So if I am on max LEN and then I turn it to 9 o'clock the sample would start immediately. Now I am guessing the time needed for a person to turn the knob right-to-left wouldn't be negligible (in electronic terms/parameter to pedal terms) so let it glitch while turning the knob.
Just an idea. Would make stuttering even more pronounced and heavy.

I don't think anyone has requested that specifically.Cortex wrote:Okay, another thing in mode 2 - has it been requested for it to behave like this? - so, as one changes the length of the sample and decrease it the pedal will wait until the sample is done playing at a LEN setting previously set and take into account the newly set LEN value only after it has done playing the sample. Also regarding the LPF thing you mentioned earlier, you actually do have to use the expression pedal to set the LPF with the current firmware, it is not as my response said. So for example, if you plug in the expression pedal, and have "E" up so it replaces DIR 1, then you have to hold the soft switch and move the expression pedal to set the LPF. It does work though, i have tested it.

Re: Count To Five
Ah, so with no expression pedal plugged in you can't set the LPF?
Anyway, this thing sounds great out of the box, even better than my revision J that I tweaked the effect balance on.
Man, all these features are boggling my mind, I still don't understand half of it.
Transcendance and what if it does this or does that, the only thing I know is that however I use it cool sounds come out.

Thanks Scott, I will try that, actually makes perfect sense I should've thought of that myself, duh!

Nono, with no expression pedal plugged in you can set the LPF with the DIR 1 knob. This is as expected.Tristan wrote:Ah, so with no expression pedal plugged in you can't set the LPF?

The complaint is that with an expression pedal plugged in, you can't set the LPF with the DIR 1 knob.
The solution is, with an expression pedal plugged in, you must use the expression pedal to set the LPF and have E such that the expression pedal replaces DIR 1. The DIR 1 knob itself no longer sets the LPF.
Someone made a nice 1 page chart explanation of how to use the pedal, i have put it on the manual page but here it is as well.

+1
Cortex wrote: "In mode 3, PLEASE try and implement a separate volume control of the three loop copies, I think this is essential to using all three copies. If using an octave up copy it is SO much louder than anything else and just obscures the other copies and makes the whole mode almost unusable.
For example you could try using the Q toggle, when one would hold Q up for a couple of seconds the pedal would go into the loop volume mode and then one would be allowed to adjust levels using the knobs for separate loops. Then upon holding the Q toggle down for a couple of seconds the pedal would return to normal operation.
I think this would greatly improve the usability of mode 3."
One person already agreed that it is a fantastic idea. I really hope that this is feasible because it would greatly improve it.

if you got one from the most recent batch it should already allow you to do that. if not i will post the firmware soon to update last run to this run.
in mode 3 hold q switch down and move dir 1, 2 , 3. It should change the volume of dir 1, 2, 3 etc.

Great! Totally works. Thanks...
I knew I read somewhere in this thread about changing volumes in mode 3.
But I couldn't find anything in the manual or the great new PDF.
(Really! The PDF is so well made. Thanks, to you who made it)
So I spent my evening searching this thread.
And this morning I can already change volumes in mode 3.
Fastest feature adding ever!

Does this volume adjustment only work on the newer models with the Q switch?

Re: Count To Five
Has anyone experienced their CT5 randomly shutting down while playing? Sometimes after I turn it off intentionally, it won’t turn back on. Sometimes it shuts off as I switch between two modes, and once it just shut down as it was playing a loop as I was not touching it.
The problem sort of seems to be rooted around the output jack. When it shuts off as described above, I unplug the power supply and the output cable. I then plug in the power, and it turns back on as it should. Then, as I plug in the output cable, it will stay powered on until the cable clicks in all the way, and then it shuts off again.
The problem has persisted with different power supplies (Voodoo Labs PP2+ and OneSpot), and different cables. I thought it had to do with the Lava Tightrope patch cables I was using, but it has continued after switching out these cables. I emailed the MA dude, and will probably send it in for a repair, just wanted to see if anyone else has run into this. Love the hell outta this pedal otherwise.

Re: Count To Five
That's definitely not normal -- and certainly nothing I encountered with my Ct5.
