Need a big (physically) fuzz to use into a dirty Fender.
Started a surf/garage/slacker rock band with some dudes in town and I'm in need of a fuzz. I'm playing a variety of single coil guitars into a Fender DeVille 4x10 set dirty. I'm really going for an aesthetic here, instead of using my big shoegaze spaceship board I'm just scattering a few things on the ground, and I feel like it'd be cool to have a BIG fuzz with BIG TOAN to step on for the especially dirty parts of our songs. I tried my IC Muff and it just got a little too cluttered sounding. I just need something that'll take my bright crunchy tone into a huge fuzzed out frenzy, mainly power chords and the occasional riff, so clarity is a plus, but it's okay if some of the definition falls by the wayside.

Don't remember how it did with clarity, but if you're going with a theme, the Fender Blender has a large footprint (fuzz + boost). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUpWpQWKeBU

If you want something that is big and just straight up 60's garage rock fuzz, maybe the NU-FUZZ. Which is a replica of the Mossrite Fuzzrite, by the guy who originally designed it. They sell it on the Hallmark Guitars website, maybe elsewhere as well, not sure. I've been trying to find something along these lines myself lately, but the opposite physically (compact). I tried the Catalinbread Fuzzrite, but something about it just didn't click with me and I haven't tried any similar type fuzzes before to compare it to, usually just Muff and Fuzzface style circuits.

Nufuzz is slightly different. It was a continuation of the fuzzrite design and swap the depth for a tone. Both are great. Love my Sanner nufuzz. It fits into the mold you are looking for too (IMO). Ghost makes a combo with both controls.
Fuzzrite/nufuzz are so awesome (and not just because we share a hometown).
If you want more gated, a pep box can be fun. One of those roland fuzz wah/bee gee pedals or something too. Montarbo Sinphoton is another kinda fun one.

This. Get that awesome enclosure that dminner has in the b/s/t. Hard to get more mojo than thatD.o.S. wrote:Find the fuzz you want then rehouse it?

Note: I can build pedals. I'm not too shabby at it actually. Just lazy. Maybe I'll build a huge Tonebender. That sounds pretty good.

I don't know if this is unique to my tonebender (tomkat bender) but it doesn't do chords with any sort of clarity. I love the way notes getting eaten by other notes for like arpeggios or whatever, but it wouldn't work well as a primary rhythm thing or anything like that.
Maybe a big ol' fuzzface? I've never tried one

I recently noticed a ginormous Harmonic Percolator clone on Reverb that might be worth trying for the identified purpose.
