Sounds great, love the look of the things. They make particularly great sounding reverbs.
I can't stand people calling effects analog bit-crushers/sample rate reducers. Especially when they mostly emulate sample rate reduction and not bit-crushing. Tends to mis-educate people on what it actually is.

haha yea i get it. its not correct. it does misinform. it also is unfortunately an easy way to explain the sound or type of the effect in simple terms. most ppl know what bit crushers are suppose to sound like & sample rate reducer has a weird ring to it. lol. i dunno lesser of two evils i guess.DRodriguez wrote:Sounds great, love the look of the things. Yeah, I get where you're coming from, At least you add the bitrate/sample rate reduction in the title. Keep making cool stuff. I frequently check out your page because you make cool original shit.Dr. Sherman Sticks M.D. wrote:haha yea i get it. its not correct. it does misinform. it also is unfortunately an easy way to explain the sound or type of the effect in simple terms. most ppl know what bit crushers are suppose to sound like & sample rate reducer has a weird ring to it. lol. i dunno lesser of two evils i guess.
I find education as far as basic terms in audio to be very important. I probably care more than most because I work in music, but I think musicians from different fields communicate better and can get more done if they learn common terms, more importantly if their terms don't conflict. It also helps keep things clear if someone goes on to educate themselves more academically in audio. That way they don't have to unlearn things.Teej212 wrote:I would say, find more important things to get upset about.
One of the beautiful things about the modern musical world is the abundance of information out there, the only downside is that a lot of incorrect information is published and more visible alongside the correct information. Particularly with the rise of of EDM and the power of cheap computers these days. It's easier than ever to attain a further level of apparent competence with incorrect information.
Something as simple as adding the word emulation to the phrase analog bitcrusher in the product description helps educate a few extra people.
