Can anyone recommend some good FX loops/amp splitters?

Post by SonicReducer »

Hi there,

Can someone suggest me some cool,fx loop/amp,splitter/mini mixer type pedals..Im trying to get a better blend between my dirt and modulation gear...Im looking for something like the Dwarfcraft Paraloop, which imreally like, but it only has one fx loop...the wounded paw blender looks interesting, but can it do two amp/stereo out like Paraloop?

Pladask Matrise is worth a look. He just built a custom 4x6 for me that I am hoping to finish setting up on my board today so I haven't played through it yet but it was a great experience dealing with him (he was very communicative and delivered when he said it would be, a first in my experience of custom builds).

don't think any of the wounded paws are stereo. can't find any stereo fx loops with more than one loop, actually.
i'm glad i can call you a friend. even if i'll never see you again

That thing is effectively a mini mixing desk, but only seems to have x3 send/receive loops when you fact in yr intrument's input/ouput

Yes you are correct, I would have to do stereo using my Line6/DL4 acting as the main output. And I figure the Paraloop isn't stereo either, it's just two amps outputted in tandem.

He certainly can.

My 4x6 custom I just got set up yesterday is in the upper right corner. It allowed me to take 5 active splitters and 1 active combiner off my board, substantially decreasing cable lengths and noticeably decreasing weight and making my board sound better and more portable. I'm happy.

Whatever route you take, I can recommend you shop for one box that accomplishes your goal and not try to string multiple together.

crazy setup there, but you already have about 3 loop switching racks, I just want one device since I only have about 7 pedals, I just want better sound definition/blending between each pedal in the chain

The Pladask, in the upper right hand corner, is operating as a splitter and is the first item in the chain. I have the option of four inputs (guitars and keyboards) into any of six outputs, each going to a separate chain and a separate amp. The Voodoo Lab Pedal Switchers are simply to turn individual effects on and off and the Voodoo Lab Commander gives me 10 presets. The 6 button pedal in the lower right is simply a 6 channel mute switch I built recently. The Ditto X4's are at the back end, allowing me to loop each of the 6 channels.

The Matrisse can be setup however you need it. That is the beauty of the matrix mixer. If you want a splitter and returns, just figure out how many inputs and outputs you need. I needed a 4x6.

I will be more than happy to share some, as soon as figure what the fuck I am doing! (I don't know what I am doing, btw) :)

I was thinking of something that allows me to to switch clusters of pedals, so if I'm playing 'clean' I can throw in shay a fuzz witha boost to give a massive distorted sound, and then switch on a Percdussive tremeo without getting volume drops and having a distinct distrtrion/tremelo mix so the tremo is blended and boosted, doesnt lose definition
