My God, the S/T is just a warmup. There is nothing on Toxicity that does not completely and utterly slay.

Usually they like Mesa amps too.
TOP DEFINITION
Butt Rock
A popular term referring to a sub-genre of hard rock strongly influenced by post-grunge and nu metal. Originating in the mid-late 90s, butt rock is comprised of raspy vocals, similar to Pearl Jam, Creed, or Nirvana, backed with radio-friendly guitar riffs, drum beats, and basic bass lines.
Generally found on CBS owned radio stations across the Midwest, Great Plains, and Southwest, butt rock is overly commercialized, processed music that lacks innovation and creativity. Butt rock predominantly targets a demographic of blue collar workers, generally men 18-45, that drink cheap light beer, have a fascination with big trucks, avidly watch Monday Night Football, and are wannabe UFC fighters.
Women that listen to butt rock are usually huge fans of Guns N Roses, and are drawn to the sub-genre by the subconscious influence of corporate agenda, or out of sympathy for their significant other’s terrible local band.
Butt rock groups include Nickelback, Seether, Theory of a Deadman, 3 Doors Down, Breaking Benjamin, Staind, Puddle of Mudd, Three Days Grace, Five Finger Death Punch, amongst others.

They had songs other than She Hates Me?
WRT Soundgarden. Louder Than Love is buttrocky...but BMF & SU are legendary.
Black Hole Sun was the biggest summer song of 1994 and its super creepy video is a classic MTV played every day before the channel turned into Lifetime-Jr.

Though Platonic Buttrock is a good name for a cover band.

Re: Puddle of Mudd
Early Soundgarden is total cheesedick glam rock meets weird art noise punk in places (see Hiro Yamamoto's era for more details), but fuck it's good.
Their self titled album is severely overlooked.
By the time they get to the slick radio rock of Down on the Upside, they're aware of how ridiculous it's all gotten, but they still hold it down enough to write some kick ass riffs, some trippy leads and interludes, hang shit on Bily Corgan AND quit with some dignity still in tact.
The recent reunion wouldn't have tarnished their legacy had they not released new material.

Also Cornell can sing like a motherfucker, which isn't usually something associated with the bad kind of booty shaking stone.

It's a pity he got a spray tan, plucked his moustache to a laser line and douched out.
His first solo record is a nice collection of weird, singer songwritery, Beatles-esque pop, but everything after that blows hard.
Audioslave were cool, but the Citizen demos were just a bit more rad than the album.
