NPD: Ibanez Analog Delay Mini

Post by penelope tree »

Has anyone else tried one of these units? Or any of Ibanez's other mini pedals? I've been impressed with the basic sound so far and it readily self-oscillates. I'll have to make a comparison with my EHX Deluxe Memory Boy.

Heard it on Pedals and Effects. Sounds really impressive, actually. The delay I mean.

I've tried the chorus and super metal, I need to mess with the delay soon. The other two are pretty rad! The Super Metal is a rad little mid gain distortion.

I'm curious to try the chorus. I didn't know these existed. Interest piqued for sure.

Delay I'm interested in if it's actual analog.

Well my thinking is the chorus i would put with my rv3 which I just use for vocals. It would be an always on thing in the effects loop of the mixer.

the elctrons do not have enough room to breath in small enclosures and tone suffers

I'm getting irritated just imagining trying to use those tiny knobs. Unless you're going into space what the hell is wrong with normal size pedals?

Real Dumb Idea.

Edit: Sorry to shit on your NPD.

I'm not a fan of tiny pedals, but for the price if it's real analog and sounds like the old one, it could be the size of a breadbox or even smaller.

Constructed using 100% Analog Circuitry, the Ibanez ADMINI Delay Pedal is a compact version of the classic Ibanez AD9 analog delay released in the early 1980s. The ADMINI maintains the sonic qualities of its bigger brother - a warm, natural sounding delay heard on thousands of recordings - and improves on its features by extending delay time to 600ms. The ADMINI and other Ibanez Mini Series Pedals are designed to allow guitarists to make the most of the space on their pedal boards while providing superior tone, effects, and the clearest signal path through True Bypass Switching. Customize your ADMINI setup with precise control over parameters, including Delay Time, Repeat, and Blend. Made in Japan, this incredible analog delay pedal is ready for whatever awaits you musically, featuring all-metal housing and a heavy-duty switch for exceptional durability. Ibanez Analog Delay Mini Effects Pedal Features 100% Analog Circuitry True Bypass Switching Delay Time, Repeat, and Blend controls 20ms to 600ms Delay Time All-metal Housing Made in Japan
They sure seem to push it as analog. I mean, if it's just a compact AD9, it's analog. :idk:

4:30 if you want to hear it. Like I said; sounds reaaaally good to me. I'm not a mini-pedal guy, but if I ever build a mini board, I might slap one of these on there.

Also, 9:40.... :!!!:

demo sounds cool. they sound almost exactly the same as their bigger counterparts.
the tiny knobs wouldn't bother me because they put the most useful control on a proper knob so the others could probably be set and forget for most people.
only thing that i don't like with these things is the jack placement. the ibanez enclosure is nicer than mooer etc, but rainger fx is absolutely the king of mini pedals.

The Seven Sisters series by Red Witch was pretty good also. Top mounted jacks, tiiiiny enclosures, rechargeable batteries that last 3-4 hours per charge.

Here's an official video by Ibanez. He's very proud of them all being analog.
