Synthy Octave Up and Octave Down Fuzz

Post by dallasisacowboy »

Looking for a fuzz that's synthy and will let me do octave up and octave down simultaneously. Had a DigiTech Synth Wah that let me do that but wanna try something else. Worse comes to worse, I'm just going to buy another Synth Wah!

Thanks.

Oh, I might get a Pitchfork. Sounds like that could work with my choice of dirt. Any other options would be nice though!

The old Fuzzhugger Phantom Ring does, I suspect there's probably something in the current product line that does it as well.

I have the PR (sitting in B/S/T right now), and have owned the SynthWah, and they're not quite in the same ballpark - the Digitech is doing a lot more than just up/down and there's some significant filtering going on. If you want the Digitech, I'd go there.

I have similar and a little better for my purposes in that department in the venerable Boss ME-6B's filter section (the reason I keep the big yellow monster running). It is NOT pedalboard friendly and after 20 years, they're not under every bush.

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.

the EQD bit commander is awesome but basically useless with chords. for mono lines and mangled indistinguishable chords it's absolutely my favourite octave synth fuzz thinger.
otherwise i would recommend a pitch shifter + fuzz combo so that you can get it tracking how you'd like. octron, micro/nano pog, PS-6, pitchfork, etc.
on the other hand you can also pair something like a superfuzz with say an OC-2. i remember that being a gnarly sound.
