Step 1: turn down lights
Step 2: install colored bulb
Step 3: adjust intensity to taste

Or you can stop after step 1 :hobbes:

Spray paint?

Or strip the paint, sand, wet sand, polish = shiny aluminum.

Ya know, I read the whole thread...got distracted in the middle of it and forgot your original idea. I was just thinking about how I have hated the distracting colors of pedals and went from there. Apologies for the poor advice.

The only thing I can really think of that seems remotely doable with my level of skills is pulling off the knobs, taking a picture, jumping into photoshop or something like that, and just making a new design, then ordering a sticker of that to wrap around the pedal. Or even print that on nice paper and precisely wrap the pedal. It'll get wonky over time, but you can do it over again, and won't damage the pedal itself at all

This amuses me, because I'm the exact opposite. The more obnoxiously colored or graphic a pedal is, the better.
fever606 wrote:Photoshop.

Which is to say... Take the photos of the pedals - the higher-rez the better - and manipulate them in Photoshop until you get the colours that you want. Print them out 1:1 on sticker paper, trim and apply to the pedals. Et voila... changed!
This is what I'd do, but different. Instead of sticker paper, use water slide decal. Sand and paint the enclosure the color of your choosing, apply the decal, clear coat, bake. There's a really great tutorial on YouTube I'll try to dig up, but I've done graphics this way on a few pedals with great results. I bought a toaster over at a thrift shop, solely to cook painted pedals.

Here it is.

If you were going as minimal as possible, the decal could be simple black text. Sand the enclosure to bare aluminum, add decal, clear and bake. It would look kinda sorta like a Fairfield pedal.

I just rehouse everything in a black 125B. One of the reasons I can't get behind Chase Bliss...I know that I could never ever fit all that stuff back in the enclosure.

But that doesn't keep the text intact. So yeah...JohnnyAngle.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.
