changing pedal colors without losing text / logo

Post by space6oy »

anyone know of a way to do this, transparent dye or something like that?
i just hate the bright coloring of some of my pedals but don't want to lose their control labels and such...
and am scared to try something like that without fucking things up...

Both of those can only get worse. Factory paint is typicaly powder coating and epoxy ink. You need to relabel everything. Try the manufacturer first, they have the silk screens already.

If you're already faced with relabeling everything, might as well give cutting some black/other dark color oil based enamel with gobs of thinner and giving the shell a quick dip to see what happens. Naturally you'd want all the electronics pulled beforehand. Disclaimer: if you're a stickler about things being pretty or uniform, listening to anything I say might be risky.

Duplicolor Metalcast paint. The top coat stuff is very transparent. I have a pedal I did toner transfer for the labeling on a bare enclosure then painted over it and you can't tell the labeling is underneath. Image

Sors for img size, I has no idea how to make dem smallzors.
