The Colour in Anything dropped yesterday. I listened to it a couple times and didn't think too much of it, but I got to hear it really loud with a subwoofer last night and holy hell is this record dense. The writing and structure of the album has such a strong stream of consciousness feeling to it, often ebbing and flowing between different variations of themes within the same track. There are some moments that are pretty ridiculous, whether it be crazy auto-tune or cheesy sounding synths or lyrical content, but the arrangement and journey through each track is incredibly impressive to me.
Anyone else digging into this? If you haven't listened yet, make sure you do it loud. Like, louder than you should. Most of my favorites or some I find super interesting aren't on youtube (so Spotify that shit), but here's a taste:

I was actually just about to pop the record on. I love his synth tones, will have to see how they sound in this record in particular. Sometimes he does go for a slightly cheesy RnB sort of thing, but to me it's always done with a bit of a wink. Psyched for this.

Re: James Blake
Classy, I like this. Not my usual bag, it reminds me a lil' of a more delicate less synthetic Junior Boys. Nice production on Radio Silence, it's nothing radical, but as future soul or whatever it's pretty sweet. I'm not too enamoured with his vocals tbqh and I don't like the piano. This is music for people who chill differently from me, like with a partner in bed or high society emo-tronica ladies with champagne and xanax. But I can appreciate his cool mood- and songcraft even as a lowly stoner.

Am I the only one who sees his name and thinks he's James Blunt and wonders why people think he's good for a second until recognition kicks in?
