I still have a Boss DD-20 and that thing is wonderful if you want a delay-based looper (it works best when the delay time is specified first). Full of tricks and excellent delay too.

I also recently bought an EHX 22500 and I really like it. 2 independent tracks that can be synced or not, if they're synced the second loop's length is a multiple of the first one and that can be set to a predefined number or the closest when you press the button. Everything is saved in memories, including the samples themselves. You can timestrech the loops without pitch shifting, which is a nice effect live. You only get artifacts for extreme stretching and they actually sound cool. If you want to use a tempo track you can load your own samples for them, I need to spend some time with that, haven't used this yet. Saves everything to SD card. There is feedback control, which is nice, but it requires using chosing the good option and using the main knob (not that bad). I forgot a few things, but overall I think it's a very nice looper. Its only real drawback is lack of sync input, I asked the EHX guy who wrote the code for it to add something to make it able to process triggers in the exp input as a clock source and he said he'd consider it but I don't think it's been implemented yet, I might need to bugger the guy a bit more :).

A plus for me when using this is that because the loops are saved I end up with come cool stuff recorded by default :).

Looper thingies on my board right now (scattered among other fx):

CT5->Dittox4->Revolver DT->Revolver DX->H9->Timeline->BoomerangIII& Sidecar.

Of course, everything but the Dittox4 and Boomerang serve double duty. The neat thing about having multiple loopers is being able to add effects to loops then loop the loops, then delete the previous looped loops to make new loops.

Having nothing synchronized is glorious.

edit: sorry not much to op. Also, can't wait to add new montreal assembly looopage.

Loopers are the best. Currently I use the timebender as my main looper, but I love using the PDS8000, the El Cap and RV-3 for textural and glitchy loops. What suck about the timebender is that it's only 20 seconds, which often is a little on the short side. But an upside is the pitchshifting function in it for creating textures in the loops. Examples can be heard all over my instagram:

Thinking about a stereo ditto for some serious looping capabilities though

I have spent years reading this sentiment from you across multiple fora.

That does not diminish what you're saying. You're right!
Lol. :hello: Am I that repetitive? It is one of few pieces of gear that changed how I make sounds and music.
No...you're just dedicated.

Loop on, code.

Loop on.

I really need a looper, I havnt been pleased with what I've had in the past. Sort of want a ditto x4, but I don't want to spend $200 either. Dl4 is just so big and I know I'll break the damn switches like past Line 6 stuff. I'm not a fan of the timing on the EHX pedals. Didn't care for the Jamman xt, maybe a Boss looper as they're cheap, but I'm not sure which I'd go with out of the options.
The 720 is still probably top contender for me.

I still think my huge Boomerang Phrase Sampler is really fun (although I've lent it to a friend who uses it to loop synth tracks).
I think it cost me ~$200.

Nux has a $95'sh looper now. Likely a boss clone.

Also, the looper on the Time Core is 40 seconds :) - almost a dollar per second!

I don't think these are available yet, but Mode 8 on the Nux Tape Core Deluxe is a sound on sound looper (at 10:30):

Straight run-through starts at 4:44 - could be an el cheapo el capistan? Still probably won't break the $50 mark so :thumb:

I'm still rocking the dl-4. I 'm actually thinking about grabbing another to use as a delay :/

That tape core deluxe seems rad. Still though, I'd say it's tough competition for something like a Hardwire DL-8, but imo it can't compeet with a dedicated looper that at least has a second switch to make starting/stopping/overdubbing/erasing a bit less annoying.

For an all purpose delay/looper that's easy on both your wallet and pedal board real estate though, I bet the tape core deluxe fucking rules.
If I weren't set on getting an eqd avalanche run I might've been tempted.

Anyway, while we're on the subject: Why doesn't the EHX 720 get mensioned more often? :idk:
Pros and cons compaired to the Ditto X2?

Whatever, someone should just put the DL-4's looper in a small pedal and be done with it :snax:

Edit: I found one argument in favour of the Ditto X2 (opposed to the EHX 720) that might keep me from ordering the 720 online: It's supposedly tricky to get the timing of your loops right...:s
