So it comes in at 700 euros + "80 to 150 euros" for shipping plus you cant use paypal. Plus, if you live in anywhere other than europe you have to send a cashiers check and pay a 30 euro charge on top of that. So were looking at around 1000 usd for this boxset and i dont even get any of the videos or a digital copy.

I mean dont get me wrong I adore emperor and a big, pompous, overpriced boxset is completely in keeping with their vibe, and im totally the type of person who would buy something like that.


I just dont know how i feel about giving my money to a dude that is constantly moaning about how bad it sucks running a label whos webstore is almost constantly totally sold out and can take three month vacations every year. Also it feels incomplete as fuck. If this material has been "totally remastered in close cooperation with the bandmembers" then i want a fucking digital copy. Sorry im an engineer and dont have a fucking turntable and a hifi at work. Also what the fuck dude there must be days worth of archival video footage and live shows out there and i personally would love a documentary with interviews and commentary from the band....

The burzum set is a total piece of shit and was like $75 bucks when i bought it new. Its pretty much just like the mayhem and emperor boxes that got issued around the same time. The quality is almost bootleg and the only reason to have it is bragging rights. As far as Varg goes, I'm pretty sure he's too busy making weird blogs about video games these days to care about a boxset, though i would like to see a proper one done.


As far as the emperor set goes.... I'm still not totally certain i want it. The base cost is 700 euro PLUS 140 euro for shipping to the USA. Thats $942.83 at current market rates. So for 24 LPs thats $40 USD per LP. The listing reads that Live Inferno is 3 LPs. Which means for the worst sounding live recording they've ever done, I'm paying $120 USD. 120 USD for a triple LP live recording.

On top of this, I can't even pay by paypal. That right there is pretty much enough to kill any desire i have for the fucking thing. And even then we're not done, not by a longshot... We haven't even gotten into the months of preening and crying and and posturing done by blood music. Dude takes every opportunity to remind you that he's nailed to a fucking cross for your right to occasionally buy shit from him when he isn't on fucking holiday. Yeah my mind is made up fuck this fucking thing.

Honestly man I've never played it. The discs are all picture discs, and they're really low quality.... Plus you get pretty much no documentation. Its weird all the listings I've ever seen have a poster of varg included but mine came with a big poster of the Daudi Baldrs artwork....sooooo I dunno. The only reason to own the thing is to tell people you were into the shit back then...which i think is why it goes for so much. And yeah i begged my parents for money and ended up selling a bunch of video games at school to get it.

Honestly though if you REALLY want burzum cred you need some of the white power flyers and enamel burzum pins you used to get when he was with heathen front...
