Not gonna disagree (mostly because I'm looking to start my one man Isis-worship project soon), but there are other great metals out there that deserve a podium position.
However most of those stopped being interesting in the 80s and 90s so....

We prefer the term instrumetal revival. To be technical, I guess I play in a post-trip noise rainbow instrumetal jam band.

A rare moment wherein D.o.S. and I agree wholeheartedly. Post-metal like ISIS, Pelican, Neurosis, Boris, Russian Circles, this is the best metal. And that post-rock sound creeping into doom metal and black metal, producing bands like Agalloch, Swallow The Sun, Myrkur, etc., is a pretty badass offshoot.
