Well, I caught flu just before the weekend and have been completely decommissioned, unable to do anything but wail and excrete snot.
I can however confirm a few things:
1) the stock presets are so shit it's not even funny or ironic in any way
2) the os on my Mac is too old to install the drivers and editor software

On my brief play through I didn't feel like it was crapping itself over my very inaccurate playing Behndy, especially compared to the zoom ms50g synth patch and what I remember of the pigtronix mothership. also this thing can sustain a hell of a lot longer than any other synth pedal I've used without a compressor in front of it!

ok so i dragged myself out of bed, updated my OS and started dicking about with the editor software....... this thing is absolutely fucking ridiculous. I'm not even gonna start to try and explain the extent of it it, but just try and imagine this:

3 x multi waveform oscillators
1 x filter and amp PER OSCILLATOR with envelope controls
2 x variable waveshape lfos PER OSCILLATOR assignable to pitch, filter, amplitude, pwm, (that's 6 syncable lfo's)
1 x 16 step sequencer PER OSCILLATOR

AND route the outputs of the above to 4 x simultaneous fx seperately or in combinations and with the clean signal to 4 seperate outputs......

AND assign ANY parameter change (including ramp time if required) to one of the 3 onboard footswitches, + 2 extras if you get an FS-6/FS-7 or an expression pedal.

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.

I can see myself programming this thing for months and still discovering sounds. So happy right now. But still mega ill so not that happy.

And now you see why I've been abusing the GR-55 and the GT-001/100 for so long.

Same level of editability/assign silliness, with more options on tap.

This ain't your daddy's 1992 multi or digital toy.

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.

Absofreakinlutely. I've had a fair few digi multi fx pedals before, this definitely ain't that!

The thing with the digi stuff is, don't buy cheap.

You get a LOT what you pay for.

I'm still tempted by one of these pedals even though I definitely don't *need* it - I still do have 11 instruments that don't have 13 pin pickups after all. :)

pfffffffffft. i've never paid more than 4 hundles for a Strymie. and i LURV those dirty buggerers.

this thing is interesting. but i'd totes need like.... a week with one? use it with the drummer and writings to see if i'd need it enough to drop enough for 2 Strymies or 4 single pedz?

intriguiiiiiiiiiiiiing though.

I feel like this post tells me soooooo much more about what this can actually do than any of the demo videos. I actually want one now

I'd say at least a week of programming it if you are already synth savvy, if you're not probably longer and a bit of a steep learning curve.
I paid £320 for mine secondhand in mint condish, i feel that was probably the right price considering everything it does. A new EHX microsynth is £160 in the UK, and this thing does about 500times more than that.

I think it's totally worth it. Normally I don't like the idea of diving into a pedal like you said Ben, but this thing sounds fucking crazy from the demos. I'd have to give it a go.

I've had all the Strymons and I hate them, that's why I talk shit on them. LOL! I paid new price for my Big Sky. Sigh. I'm an igit. LOL.

EVENTIDE FOR LYFE. LOL. Oh and Boss. I actually really like Boss.

i kinda hate my H9. i only use it for a two octave pitch sweeper and i took my second one off of my other board.

because they still have no good way for people to edit patches when you're not connected to a laptop or desktop if you don't want to use an iDevice.

so kinda Fuck Eventide.

Bro they just came out with that new interface thingie. Check that out. :) I just like the sound quality over the Strymons, but everyone's ears are different.

seriously? they FINALLY have an app for Android?

i'm srill bitter towards how long it took and how much asses they were any time i ever even got them to answer a question about that, but...... fucking finally. good for them. i guess. just 5 YEARA AFTER IT CAME OUT.

gonna go look.

lol. and sound is subjective and all, but i love the stuff the Strymies can do. there's some anger buried under the smooth TGP toanz.
