Well, kids will start having sex as soon as they're biologically able despite society informing 'em that they're not ready yet. :idk:

Right^

Fairly certain it's a biological holdover from the vast expanse of human history where turning 35 meant you were old as fuck, rather than an age where you could be considering having your first child.

Yeah I was surprised but they seem to write alot of story lines like that.
One step mom is a drug lord, then the next one is, it happens way to often on the show.

Trump supporters believe he’s different. They believe that he cares about us, that he tells it like it is, that he gives us a voice, that he can’t be bought because he’s already rich, that he’s railing against politics as usual.

But does Trump care about the white underclass, or does he still think poor people are “morons”?

Did slave owners care about white indentured servants when they pitted them against African slaves, or did they want to ensure a steady supply of cheap labor? Did Ronald Reagan care about poor white people when he trotted out the fictional welfare queen, or did he need a budget item to cut? Do wealthy elites and politicians care about poor and middle class people when they send them off to war, or are they anticipating massive profits?

Trump is railing against establishment politics not because he cares about the white underclass, but because he needs us — for now. He isn’t reaching out a hand to lift us up. He wants to stand on our shoulders so we can lift him up.
Hammer meet head of nail.

Now according the church I'm still a heathen for getting snipped but they don't have to raise the 5 fucking kids I would have ended up having! I already have 3 and love my girls to death! We were supposed to have 4 though..man I wish I wouldn't have thought of that.
jwar wrote:No, I get that. I totally do. But there's other ways of trying to prevent IE condoms and such. A lot of places hand out condoms for free, so in this country there really isn't any excuse to have unprotected sex unless you just don't care about the possible consequences.

That being said, it was expensive but it was only 1k total. I wish insurance companies would cover it. They ought to. Would solve a lot of problems.
I know this thread has gone a lot of places but I wanted to chime back in since i maybe pushed it down this road. I know you probably know all this, just wanna put it back out there.

A. Reproductive health issues cover more than just abortions. (Birth control, etc.)
B. Condoms are not always widely available in the areas most likely to need them.
C. Condoms break. Actually quite often. Those free NYC Condoms they give out actually broke all the god damn time.
D. Vasectomies are completely unaffordable to many people who would want/need them.
E. You sort of brought it up, but there are religious/social elements beyond price that prevent many people from using condoms or getting Vasectomies or birth control.

I know these things are all obvious. I just find it important to remember that there are many parts of this country (let alone the world) where access to condoms, let alone birth control or vasectomies or what have you, is extremely limited and often stigmatized. Some folks mentioned education, and that would be a wonderfulnstart, except the population growth is currently at an absurd rate and not getting slower. I live in a pretty liberal college town, but there are protesters outside there every day, i see cars with "Defund Planned Parenthood" bumper stickers quite often. I hope people are aware, but the amount of abortions PP provides, vs. the amount of STI testing, providing birth control, medication, medical advice, fucking condoms; PP is clearly tryna prevent the need for abortions. Also, again, the number of unwanted children on this planet, especially in the areas without access to better resources and healthcare, is astronomical. Proposing adoption as the alternative to abortion is grotesque.

Sorry to be long winded. I'm a fucking homo, what do i know?

That piece about Trump was a pretty well written piece of critical race theory. Got annoyed when they started on the Bernie train, only because I doubt in the efficacy of any "left wing" pesident in this country.

yeah the bernie derail was not awesome but in general it's a great piece.

I have always wondered what the impact of no abortions would look like in our world.
I am not a fan of abortion in general, especially as a means of birth control, but I don't think conservatives have ever really thought about a world with that many unwanted kids.

I don't see christian's lining up and sacrificing comfort to add more kids to their homes now,

I also recognize that some of these kids would have died from abuse or neglect were they allowed to be born.

The whole situation in general just really sucks and I don't see either side as having a good answer.

A big problem is that the myth of abortions as birth control is about as accurate as the welfare queen myth. Most people who get abortions are doing it because of reasons like their actual birth control surprise surprise failing, rape, health risks for themselves and/or the fetus, etc.
Most women are not wilin out, having tons of unprotected sex off medication, and going to the abortion clinic the next morning when they sober up. End of the day thoigh, men making decisions about women's bodies still leaves a bad taste in my mouth for the same reasons as why i would be irate with any person who told me what to do with my body w/r/t my gender.

That makes sense,

Keep in mind that we live in a country where Men made all the decisions (white Men mostly) for a good percentage of our history.
It's going to take a while to correct that.

I agree with you. I know that a lot of birth control doesn't work first hand! My sister in law got pregnant twice on the pill and my wife got pregnant with our third with an IUD. It's a sticky situation.

What I'm saying though is that people don't want babies, I understand, trust me. But if you're going to have sex, that's just a risk. Our bodies were made to be reproduction machines. So we could take as much prevention as possible.

At the end of the day it is the individual's decision to have an abortion regardless of what I say. I am prolife, but that doesn't mean I'd take away someone else's right to make a choice. That actually contradicts what we are taught as Christian's which is free will and to not judge others. Although there are many that don't agree with me.

The condom availability is scarce in some places I know, but in downtown Kansas City, there are clinics that will provide people who do not have means with free condoms. Also I believe Planned Parenthood does this as well (just re-read what you said and you state this).

So I'm just coming from a place of love, not hate. I don't judge. I just wish there was a better way you know? If our Government has a problem with abortions, which they Republican's do, then provide vasectomies and such for free. It's a 15 minutes procedure and wham, bam, thank you m'am.

It's funny, as a Catholic it is totally against the church that I had one too. I'm a bad Catholic though. I don't hate others. I don't think there's anything wrong with gay marriage, I don't care if someone is an atheist, I think the creation story is retarded as well as a lot of the Bible. Man... LOL. I kind of suck at being Catholic.

Anyway, I just hate the life being wasted. It makes me sad. It's like when puppy mills are used, I weep for those poor animals.

I love you guys though. :) I don't care if you don't agree with me on everything or anything. I like that we are so diverse here.
