Re: Corgan and Iha?
I was at the show.
They covered the rolling stones "Angie" together and ended with a Hole song.
And played songs from Siamese Dream I guess...
never heard the album...I went because my wife loves them (and she said that is her favorite album). Haha. Liz Phair was there too.
Oh yea! The Edge walked by out front...I was going to yell that he owes Political Asylum money...but I kinda stammered/was too late. The Edge haha lame.

Re: Corgan and Iha?
So if the Pumpkins had a full blown reunion, replete with Chamberlain now-scary D'Arcy, could it possibly be good?
I think Corgan's megalomania rivals Axl's, so I'm betting on no.

Re: Corgan and Iha?
It would probably be like Ralf hutter controlling all over kraftwerks machines while the other dudes pantomime...then replace them again once the luster wears off.
At that show, they had that other guitar player dude play most of the leads...so I think iha would mostly be there for cred...umm...at least from my outsider not fan perspective.
They would probably keep on the other new touring members as multi instrumentalists from the impression I got last night.

Re: Corgan and Iha?
Corgan was always lead anyway though, right?
I do have a lot of love for that lineup, but nearly every account I've heard of that era indicated that BC dictated or even played everything on the albums. And hey, that's fine--it's just that his taste started to plummet pretty soon thereafter.

Re: Corgan and Iha?
I did some reading out of curiosity and it kinda seemed like he just wanted to streamline the studio process + ego. Iha and darcy, though maybe not playing on recordings, were probably good honest bouncing points for criticism. Maybe that is why when they left/where fired the music went downhill because he installed yes men kinda?
(I also know a lot of bands do the "I will play everything" studio thing just to get it done...but they always write together. Plus, when substances get involved it does help to do that sometimes).
I don't really know much, just impressions from the show and reading various quotes out of curiosity today

Re: Corgan and Iha?
Only interested in Corgan's old songs/guitar playing and Jimmy Chamberlin, who is fucking fire. The rest (including Corgan as person) are all kind of old balls.

I cordially invite you to fuck right off and let the rest of us talk about music like adults.- dubkitty
