There's a mix knob up in there.Strange Tales wrote:Would you be able to add a dry switch so it can turn on your dry signal and be a fucked up chorus as well? If I remember right in my skull bag, vibrato is a just a dry killed chorus.

but more visual, and more everything. I can find these for 'regular' shapes like sine, tri, square and stuff no problem. but I'm interested in weirder shapes, like sloped/skewed tri, pinched sine, etc.
I've found options already. just haven't got around to trying them yet.

cloudscapes wrote:I don't know about a dedicated smooth waveform control. To me this makes most sense:
knob - vibrato depth
knob - vibrato speed
knob - random modulation
knob - sine/tri/ramp/square/pinched/etc/order/may/vary
knob - mix
soft stomp - bypass
soft stomp - tap for tap tempo / hold for hollow earth style manual lfo shape (using depth knob for shaping)
I'm not super hot about adding more controls than this. I don't want to make a huge pedal. think chase bliss size, with the two foot switches.
I've been working a couple hours evenings this week. mainly just getting a new microcontroller configured and running (the old vibrato uses an 8bit avr, the new one a 32bit, same family as my delay/anti nautilus, but smaller package). I have a 4-day weekend coming up so I think I can prototype something by the end of that. the actual vibrato circuit will be easy. just reuse the old one's with improvements.
That seems great. Anything you could do to cut down latency would be be an improvement, too.

You might be able to do something quickly with processing if you don't want to go the C++ route...cloudscapes wrote:I'm also looking for software that'll help me create interesting waveshapes and turn it into numbers I can use

Definitely consider a volume control/boost, even for an internal trimmer. Sometimes you just need a little oomph.
I like the idea of you making simpler pedals in slightly easier to obtain runs.

Considering. Hell, I'm even considering game maker since I already own and know how to use it.oscillateur wrote:You might be able to do something quickly with processing if you don't want to go the C++ route...cloudscapes wrote:I'm also looking for software that'll help me create interesting waveshapes and turn it into numbers I can use
I'd make a utility that prompts you to open a picture of a wave. Then just have it scan row by row, left to right. I'd just have to make sure the waveform pictures are high contrast and clean. I won't need interpolation or fancy stuff. It's just for an lfo that will be modulating the delay time of a 2399. Accuracy is not really a concern.

I always put an internal volume trimmer nowadays, if it's not external.neonblack wrote:Definitely consider a volume control/boost, even for an internal trimmer. Sometimes you just need a little oomph.

I think the great thing about SC and the rest of the builders on here is watching the creativity unfold, not really the personal possession of a particular unit.

True, but possessing a unit or two wouldn't be so bad either.

With Processing it should be simple enough to make something that loads an image and does simple detection, or that enables you to draw the waveform yourself.cloudscapes wrote:Considering. I haven't used that in years but the syntax is super simple and it's perfect for this kind of things...
You could even modify this existing example to draw a waveform :
http://processing.org/examples/handles.html
And then save the data somewhere :
