Line 6 M9 Looper Appreciation

Post by tashiattack »

I used to have a Line 6 M9 years ago, around the time they first came out. I got rid of it a long time ago.

I came across another one a few days ago, and I forgot how awesome the looper was. I had a ditto x2 looper, and I can say that the M9 is much easier to use! (Although, the sound quality is definitely better on the ditto).

Not the biggest fan of the delays, but the opto tremolo, reverbs, octave fuzzes, pitch shifters, and boosts/comps, are way better than I remember too. If the delays sounded like the echo park, then the M9 would basically be perfect.

I'm all about the DL4s looper. It's an integral part of my rig. I've fucked with the M13 a bit and still prefer the DL4, but the undo/redo feature is really sweet!

Previous owner of DL-4, M13 and M9(and M5, but no looper there).
Still think that looper is THE BEST single-track looper out there.

Ditto X2 is close, specially since it's almost 1/3 of the size, but the DL-4 is still at the top, over 15 years after it was released.

Love the m9.

I've been trying to master using the undo/redo function so that I can play minus the bear type stuff without two dl4s.

Owned a Dm4, Fm4, two Dl4's and a verbzilla but sold em all to get an M9 when it came out. The looper is my fave thing about it. I loved the Dl4 looper but needed longer loop time. I miss the big knobs that old 4-models had two. They made for some nice tweaking on the fly which I feel isn't as doable with the M9. However, its probably the one pedla I wouldn't get rid of and the looper is a big par tof that. Just scared shitless all the time I use it that the switches are gonna break.

You can replace the switches.

DL4 is still the king of loopers for me too, and I have owned many. The M9 is slightly better for the separate Reverse and Half Speed switches, plus Undo/Redo.
