It's like a mixture of instantly feedbacking delays and oscillating fuzz.
Are there any delays that instantly feedback? Even my DD-3 needs a few seconds to feedback when I hit it.

I'm looking for a sound like at 0:53

Also, any other general feedback/oscillation sources would be cool to know about.

I'll take a stab at how it's done.

I think he uses an old Noise Swash fed in to a parallel signal. One side has pitch shifting, ring mod and delay and the other is straight noise swash. The delay you hear is being controlled by the expression pedal for delay time, mix and feedback to get those analog/warp sounds. I think that's his old way (as seen in From The Basement). The newer floor based board has an auxiliary board with his noise swash fed in to an MXR analog delay and a Boss RPS-10 rack unit (rack version of PS-3). His signal path has always been a mystery to me - especially how he uses his amps and drive section (mono - stereo? parallel?).

That makes sense.
I wish they weren't so secretive. Otherwise, I'd ask him all about it when I see them in April.
But they're known for reacting with a general, "none of your business" attitude to rig questions.

It makes sense though. They all have a unique approach to gear and have spent time to craft their tone. I don't blame them for wanting to keep it secret. It makes it fun trying to guess how they do what they do.

This x10000, having the feedback move with your playing is orgasmic. I'll link to a video I made of it for Instagram, it's one of my favorite things about the pedal.

the sound at :53 seconds could most definitely be made with a fuzz factory, but more easily manipulative with a fuzz probe, hands down. The stab knob is the key to that sound. And instantly oscillating delays like that, in my experience (i've never had a no memory or any of them with memory in the name) would be a recovery cutting room floor, in the delay side of it at least - the speed of the oscillation is completely linked to your delay time; have it set really short and you get something instant, have it set to something longer and get something like what you hear towards the end of the song

just based on my experience, at least
