Circuit-bent ring mod toys?

Maybe, but maybe not for $300:

That description is kinda funny..."sounds like: ring Modulator"...

300 is too much...I dunno. Neat find!

I gotta update that list...

I've actually been using the shit out of my Randys Revenge since I got it. It really helped to tune it to the root of whatever i was playing in. I keep the mix slightly higher than 50/50 (sorry galvar) and it really keeps things interesting and unpredictable. I love it with complicated clean-ish palm muted parts but it does amazing things with fuzz before it too.

I finally feel like I get it.

On sale today at Perfect Circuit. About $4 more than you would spend direct from LAL.

Yes! Now thrash! Haha.

It's OK, 55% ring mod is better than 0%. And I do on occasion turn down the blend....just depends on the ring mod....  :joy:

Speaking of blending ring mods, I feel like the SPKjr is good for that kinda overtone stuff just not for full on ringmoddin' . Note about the SPKjr: it is probably best run before fuzzes and other things because there is a percieved volume drop and some cut issues. It is very good at adding or building into other effects and it has its own charming kinda character. (it has less overall range than something like the ehx frequency analyzer).

Hope you get one rustywire!

Now the original SPK is where it's at though haha.

That CG XR-1e or whatever is on sale...

Yes I've seen this. My intention is to buy a new one direct from Hiro instead of paying about the same for a used one from a distributor.
I may grab a Lluna while I'm at it :hobbes:
Gotta get in his good graces for a shot at that elusive Super Fuzz 45 reissue
Thanks anyway tho!

Really stoked to try out the Bitquest ring mod after having the Moog for so long. I'm hoping it'll be more useful in a band setting.

I guess I should have known this, but somehow it didn't dawn on me. This weekend I discovered that the EHX 8-Step Program controlling Randy's Revenge on low/trem settings turns it into a reasonable facsimile of a Goatkeeper.

Don't think that's been posted here before, but I've got it in my modest ring mod playlist on YouTube. It's  -er than fuck.

I will attest that he is correct on the  factor of the playlist.

I posted Mixtur a few pages back and an article that mentioned the composer. Good add, Eivind!

I just read that Buchla used transistors (like Carlin or the tab101) and vactrols (this one is new to me...but I totally know and get why it works) to do ring mod.

Vactrol ring mod!

And, even though I am pretty content on gear...I wouldn't mind a Buchla (I played a show with his son...Ezra showed up with a three tier 200 series).
