Maybe a Boss VB-2 (reissue) or it's clone - the Behringer UV300 ($30), might get you pretty close, along with whatever amount of grit/eq you add to it. I immediately thought of a Small Clone, since it detunes the faster the rate, but doesn't quite hit the flavor as that clip (but probably could, with tweaking on either end of the signal chain - also, they're as plentiful as Seppukus are scarce). The VB-2 has more control over that warble, or at least should (Waza be damned).

The Iron Ether Polytope, too, but that's like a spaceship in comparison (a deeper machine in a whole lot of ways).

Check out the midfi stuff (Pitch pirate I think). Might get close.

Mind Warps come up frequently though and Rhys still makes them.

If you do get a mind warp and it sounds different, try changing the chip. There are differences and Distortion differences by individual chips (pt2399).

As a owner of a MW: Ezhi&Aka The Tape gets just as warm/syrupy, even more so, actually. Plus, plenty of other features. My demo will be up when I wake up (currently uploading. 6:45am here. Night!)

I believe it's a very similar circuit to the pitch pirate. Modulated pt2399, with mix depth and rate controls. Plus the pitch pirate has a few more controls

Pitch Pirate was the answer for my Mind Wrap/Warped Vinyl GAS.

Another possibility that hasn't been mentioned is the Mid Fi-Electronics Electric Yggdrasil. I haven't played one, and I don't know how similar it really is to the Mind Warp, but that might be one to look into too?

all good suggestions, i'll look into some of those
also i want it to be more of an immediate effect than a delayed effect
believe it or not the Wampler Nirvana Chorus is one of the best i've found at this sound, but i want to see if i'm missing any amazing stuff out there

I think the Julia can do similar sounds to the more extreme settings of the Mind Warp & Pirate, but with more warmth and less noise.

Fast fwd to around 3:30.

No, sorry, doesn't even come close to the crazy Mind Warp sounds. The Mind Warp has a lot more modulation depth and faaaaster speed. This one in the video sounded a bit like a BOSS CE-3 in Mode II and Output A only.

I don't know how you can make a definitive claim like that, based solely on 20-30 seconds of audio from a trade show setting, where you're not even getting to hear the effect ring out. That's not even the finished production model. Besides that, when the rate pot is finally above 50%, the depth pot is dialed back to around noon. You're never allowed to hear all the pots dimed out.

I've owned 3 Pirates, along with several other PT2399-based pedals, and none of them had modulation depth as deep as the best analog units. Even some of the FV-1 pedals I've used had more interesting textures than their PT2399 counterparts. I don't care how fast an LFO gets or how much overall movement there is, if they're lo-fi and noisy, it severely limits their usefulness.

What made the Mind Warp unique was that it had the ability to mimic multiple pedals in unison. I don't think anything sounds exactly like it, but there are certainly other ways to get a similar sound.

Didn't know that it was not the final design. But the rate knob is fully dimed, isn't it? And the Mind Warp's superfast LFO is half of its awesomeness IMO - and I only talked about the crazy sounds. While watching the video I had my doubts that slightly higher depth settings of this shown pedal could have such an enormous impact. The depth knob was at 03:00h or so, or am I wrong? Can't see the video right now.
