I seriously use a different brand and gauge every time I change strings. Right now it's DR 12-60 for my Les Paul and Ernie Ball 50-130 on my Schecter 5 string bass.

I've been digging the D'Addario NYXL 12-54 set on most of my electrics. D'Addario chrome flats 13-56 on my Silvertone 1448. Big fan of DR pure blues, too, but these NYXL strings are working very well for me.

13-56 on my acoustics, usually D'Addario, sometimes John Pearse, and I bounce between 80/20 and phosphor bronze depending on how I'm feeling.

Medium scale D'Addario Chromes flatwounds for my Mustang bass and some far too thick Chromes for my Jaguar (12-13 or something), that I will have to change to lighter ones at some point if I want to use that guitar one day...

12-52 for regular tuning and 14-68 for baritone.

For six string guitar, boring ol' Fender Stainless 10s.

For VI, boring ol D'Addario 84s.

I don't tune to drop B, I went through my he man macho string size thing twenty-some years ago, and just decided to play what made me happy and my body chemistry didn't kill.

i've been digging d'addarios the past few years. i used chrome flatwound 11s for a while then switched to 10s. now i'm using half-round light top / heavy bottom on my tele (i played 11s for years and now 46 feels too thin for a low E).
switching to flats on bass is probably one of the best decisions that i've ever made.

I use Rotosound funkmaster strings on bass because I'm too lazy to build a Bass VI. Either way, I love playing a ton of chords over my whole bass and these were the thinnest I could find.

I broke d'addarios every time I played 'em. Went through a 10 box in like a month. Broken Erine ball strings even faster. Ehx and Dean markley I broke tuning every damn time.

Rotosound 9s or everly B52 9s (sometimes I get this one everly pack that was like mixed or something.) B52s have stood up though. The Rotosound have too and I actually liked them. Both are kinda a pita to find sometimes (either people are sold out or just don't stock them).

Bass strings = whatever they come with haha!

Are those so good they're worth the cash every time?

I used some flatwounds for the first time and they are pretty glorious. Less highs but even sound, less pick scrape, better response to picking, less flop. Options for flatwounds are pretty slim it seems.
