favorite set it and leave it trem?
hey guys
what's the forum favorite sit and leave it go to trem?
I have a gravitas and I love it but i have a tough time using it with the band (we do rhythmic 70's inspired psych-postpunk, a little t rex a little queens of the stone age). I know I could probably use the presets to make it do simpler things but right now I have it set up for madness for my ambient/shoegaze project. so i'd rather just have another pedal to do the straight forward stuff.
i had a boss tr2 on loan from a friend that was fine and did the trick well enough. sure there must be something a bit more sophisticated without getting into knobs on knobs madness. my old roommmate/guitarist for band pavo pavo loves his empress trem, have been considering that.
what do you guys use?

I like my new fulltone supa trem. A lot of people like various versions of the box repeat percussion like the hummingbird

I love my Empress and it's probably my current favorite. It's intuitive despite all the knobs. The Diamond is interesting and the sounds are quite unique. The Equilibrium is quite good, and I couldn't see myself parting with it. I also use a Semaphore, Gravitas, and two Vibravox units among others. I've been wanting to get a Dynatrem and a Stutter Lite, because I like plug-and-play type of stuff, when I'm chaining several units together.

I have the Black Cat Mini Trem, but it's hardly a 'set and forget' deal in my case. I'd actually prefer it if the double-speed switch was a tap tempo so I didn't have to bend down and adjust it while jamming and such. It's so usable though, both as a classic trem and a straight boost/tone control with the depth way down. The Supa Trem does seem useful in the sense that (I'm guessing) the speed knob is big enough to adjust with your foot. The Henretta Crimson tremolo would probably be ideal if you don't want/need to set the speed on the fly, like if you only use really slow or fast trem.

The supa trem 2 I have sounds really really nice. Really awesome in stereo.
I had a DOD FX22 Vibrothang that was a really cool normal trem+phasing EQ trem but I sold it.
EHX pulsar was cool too.
Best trem is on my amp though.

Tremolessence I'd say, one of the best sounding and most inspiring tremolo pedals I know of.

Mid-Fi Electric Yggdrasil... goes from vibe to trem.
It has that kind of 3D feel that I like a lot.
Else... amp trem are the best. Mine is tube driven and it's awesome.

Only one I've found that has stuck around on my board more than a few months (and we're at year 4-5 now ) was a custom one I had made and incorporated in a 3-1 pedal Adjustable waveform (can go full on stutter to barely moving), blinking LED to show rate/wave, and most importantly, it is both quiet *and* has a level boost so I can get unity gain with the trem on or a little higher.
It's part of my NoisekickFX Guano Loco (stutter trem, analog delay w/ warp switch, incredibly mean and not conducive to nice day fuzz, order of fuzz/trem switchable externally as well).

Reuss Repeater Fuzz is a lot of fun. It's a vox Repeat Percussion clone with a built in Tonebender Mkii.
The Randy's Revenge does one of the best sounding tremolo sounds I've ever heard.

ED Hummingbird II? Nio frills, just your basic controls, but I really prefered it over the Boss TR-2. It has a nice warm volume boost, you could even dial it in to work as just a decent sounding booster if you wanted to. Pretty much a vintage sounding trem that can go from almost square wave choppy stuff to slow pulses. Small, not too pricey, and the typical eqd quality.
I'm not that into tremelo myself though, I sold the Hummingbird when I got my AC15C2
