it's being produced by Production I.G. in Japan so they're basically just throwing money at studios for exclusive releases to bolster/diversify their library right?
considering Netflix is in Japan now and the libraries all vary by region anyway i can't imagine it's really a big deal, but if studios start pandering to the international market because Netflix can make it more profitable for them then maybe we're in for a lot of changes over the next few years. it would be great to see global licensing for more new titles if Netflix starts to overtake the regular channels in Japan but i could foresee more and more dumbed-down westernized shit happening too (not that a lot of current stuff isn't just as bad but there's still some degree of cultural integrity).

YEAH BOIIII! Stein's Gate is awesome, and like you, I loved it from the start. Not only is it awesome, humorous sci-fi, it's also one of the best love stories I've seen.

YES. Have you watched the reboot movie thingies? The first one sucked, but they got better, and included more of the story. They were lacking some more Susumu Hirasawa on the soundtrack, but overall they were pretty good (well, the last two at least).

Oh yeah, the show is better, but the movies didn't suck as much as feared. And it looks like they'll finally make more. But yeah, the manga will go on to the end of time.
