coupleonapkins wrote:Good news: My local GC had a shipment of NAMM arrivals the other day, w/ many Music Man on the wall all fresh (Cutlass, Petrucci, Majesty & Stingray, whole bunch of others). There were boxes of guitars everywhere, but no St. Vincent (yet?). Previously they only had the odd Sterling bass lying around, so maybe this will bode well for the rest of the country, et. al (I live in the middle of it).

I'm of the popular persuasion that $2k for a guitar is robbery, but after selling my last upgraded Squier offset to someone a few weeks ago, and passing on a sweet offer for a 60's Bobkat this weekend, I think I'm ready for that bigger investment, as the St. Vincent is pretty much everything I've ever wanted in a guitar, sans dream-type/mythical scenarios. That GC also had a surf green US Tele w/ an all-rosewood neck, which was so sweet, & thereabout sold me on the MM, though I know that neck will be a little wider. And all I have to do is stay relatively pedge for a little while (lord willin'), & maybe sell another pedal or two....

Nice Hockney usage :thumb:

Where are you, out of curiosity? I feel like GCs in places like NY and CA get a lot better stuff, so just wondering.

I'm in Kansas City, thereabouts, middle of the damn map (don't tell Jwar :|: ). There are three GCs in the area, but I tend to stay away from the downtown-esque location (too far, too crowded, never really been worth it), and the other two suburban area'd ones serve up enough used/pre-owned to stop by every other week or so. Both are pretty unassuming - one didn't get any offsets until midway last year (the ones w/ the MM's), and the other stocks mostly heavy metal pointers on the wall, which sold out of their Squier offsets a week after I found 5 or 6 on the racks about a month ago. Location is everything, maybe?, but I suspect MM is taking a new strategy w/ their line this year, even if my GCs might be some sort of test market (which actually makes a whole lot of sense).

I used to live near Austin, but was too young & poor to ever find or locate gear feasibly (I really loved South Austin Music back then), and if I'm ever in San Antonio, their GC is like the only game in town (& stocked accordingly). When I was even younger, I visited Manny's Music in NYC (before Sam Ash destroyed the street) but obviously wasn't smart enough to ask for a spam can Fuzz Factory, let alone even look for one (place was downright magical, anyway). The GC in Hollywood is exactly what you'd think, but then again, it's the GC in Hollywood (somebody chime in with your run-ins w/ Blake Mills and/or which members of Warrant still work there, please).
Good morning!

No idea if it's limited - EB first mentioned that the blue option was going to be a limited option at first, but that seems to have been scrubbed from the record, probably due to all the press it's been receiving, and maybe sales/pre-orders, too.

Someone at the EB forum took possession of one (first one to post, at least), today.

Pre-order pages have been all over the place - some still list it at 03/11 (Musician's Friend, Sweetwater) while some are up to 04/11 (Guitar Center) or so. EB doesn't list any dealers within 200 miles of Norway - anybody have experience w/ any of the mentioned dealers internationally?

Sweet! I've had quite a few guitar and basses sent to me from abroad. Never had any issues. Good shops know how to package things right. Hoping to get a blue one.

I love the Albert Lee. But, yeah, this one is damn sexy.

It isn't the ugliest guitar in the Ernie Ball lineup.........but that's not saying much.
