Has anyone seen her play the material from Abyss live? I want to catch her when she comes through Philly as ibbe been waiting years to see her, but it looks like shes mainly playing stuff from Abyss & Im not super into the record... hoping maybe it'd be a bit different live?

Honestly who cares if some music snobs say she isn't good enough or authentic? Music snobs have the same complaints about every artist they don't like.
FWIW Lana Del Ray comment/comparison shouldn't be taken as a slight. Not that I'm aware of any other song than Video Games...but it's not like a musical comparison was made to idk...J-Lo

I am the one that made the comparison and what i meant was that she has a very specific aesthetic that, to a lot of people, adds a lot of gravitas to what would normally just be a run of the mill breathy female vocal presentation. I think she's trying to take diamanda galas' style and fit it to some really boring and uninspired "pop" music. I just rather personally listen to woven hand. Im sure there are a lot of good female singers doing the goth country or david lynch country whatever thing but its not a genre I've really explored so i can't say much.
