but as someone who did just get a new instrument... it's awesome although I am finding out that my new instruments tend to replace my old, no matter what either are
"Need" in the sense of "can I create without anything additional", I need nothing.
But in terms of "I can hear where this will take me", there's all sorts of things - or the combo of "this thing could inspire something different", sure. Need.
It's why I have a dozen guitars and basses. They all speak to me in different ways.

I'm always trying to reign in that kind of thinking. And I find that when I do, I do a better job of using what I already have and coming up with new sounds and possibilities.
