Getting back to 'sleeper' pedals. I've heard that Digitech's The Weapon does a neat sitar effect. I've never used/owned it though. Definitely not what you necessarily expect out of a Dan Donegan signature pedal.

I've got a Metal Charger that I think is probably pretty close, the model number is MS10 so I am thinking MS originally stood for Metal Screamer.

Looks like the Metal Charger is a bit higher gain. Maybe a lot. I looked up a schematic, and there are a lot more diodes-- most of which I assume are clipping diodes.

The Metal Charger also has moar knobs. Looks like a really cool pedal. You like it?

Yeah it's pretty cool, I am a sucker for lots of controls. Also a sucker for anything with Metal in the name too. I think it does a pretty cool all the time distortion sound. I'm pretty :idk: when it comes to overdrives so I decided I wanted something tube-screamerish and then I saw this and its like tube screamer plus metal distortion and more knobs and well... I do love the controls it lets me dial in different sounds and such.

How about the Ibanez Fat Cat?
Their answer to the Rat but it sounds quite different.

He used some sitar on their first album...I think it was on Stupify.

Is that a 10 series too? I think a lot of that series would be sleeper-ish. Although some seem to fetch pretty not sleeper prices on ebay. I haven't heard to much about any of them, except I remember when I signed up here there was an outpouring of love for the DDL-20? DML? A digital modulated delay. That's about it I can remember in various forums and such, which is strange. There's actually a really cool looking one on ebay now, that is similar to the dod fx57 hard rock distortion, a dist. and analog delay in one, but the ibanez 1.) has a switch to put the delay in parallel or series and 2.) is pinkish.

oh that's the Session Man.

It came as distortion-delay or distortion-chorus.
I have the distortion-chorus version.
Interesting sounding pedal switching from parallel to series kicks the volume up.

The 10 series pedals are all kind of neat, some great ones in that line up.
Like the Fat Cat and Super Tube. The Compressor sustainer isn't bad for the time.

The worst one is the LA Metal, It's neither and pretty bad sounding.

Liking it for what it does. Worth the money, to be sure.

The little booklet included has their full line, and they seem to make a lot. The demo for their dual mode fuzz (the Artec Fuzztown) on youtube is pretty terrible.

Their tremolo and univibe clone look cool, though. Pretty good for cheap, practically-unheard-of Korean pedals.

Not to push the Buddha boxes much more, as they're not really even pedals, but I found this plae:
http://loop-o-mat.com/products.php
which is selling buddha boxes, sometimes cheaper than their own eBay auctions (they say it is because of eBay fees being so high)

Note:I'm not affiliated with them in any way. Just pointing out a place to pick one up.

Off-topic note: I'd love to hear what people come up with running one of these boxes through fuzz, delay, etc. Probably will make a new thread if I get any cool sounds of mine to share.

Speaking of Buddha Boxes, I've heard really cool sounds from bent ones... I'm not that interested in them save for this capability, but it seems worthwhile all the same.

Hahahaha!

This thread is so vintage... statements such as "my favorite non-Devi pedal, hands down."
