Does anyone if owning a Snazzy FX Mini Ark would make my mid-fi electronics glitch computer redundant? I know the mini ark obviously does more, but are the fuzz capabilities similar to the glitch computer? Or is it a less/more extreme fuzz?
If I go for the mini-ark I would need to offload the glitch computer, but I love feeding my whammy with the gc signal and bending it all over the place...
We have a couple of Mini-Ark users on here, but my suspicion is that they're different enough that any redundancy would be on the user's end -- not in a mean way or anything, but you know what I mean?
No one knows both of these pedals?
Does the fuzz in the mini ark effect just the clean guitar signal or does it affect everything (clean signal and all synth signals)

Yeah I get what you mean I think. I've never read any mean comments on this board so don't worry I haven't taken it the wrong way!
This thread is more me hoping someone will jump in and go 'Glitch computer? Pfft Mini Ark destroys the glitch computer!' in such a way that makes me abandon all rationality about my finances and go for it immediately.
Plus my fuzz question above.
Sorry for inflicting my brain crisis on the board!
I mean if you have a shot at the Mini Ark for a good price, why not just go for it anyway? It's been said that Dan at Snazzy plans to reissue the old pedals, but who knows when because he's been a busy dude building new eurorack stuff.
I've got them both, initial thought is that there is little to no overlap. I don't believe I've a/b them before but they do rather different things, MIGHT be able to get something similar to the GC with the mini ark but not really...I'd go double check but the GC isn't at the house. I'd say go for the Mini-ark and don't look back, but I really like more unconventional/weird effects, and they dont get much weirder than the Mini-Ark
Thanks uncle grandfather! I'll do it! I really didn't get on with the pigtronix mothership, mainly due to needing a manual tune on a continuously sweeping knob every time you want to use a different interval , so hoping the mini ark craps all over the mothership.
I have to get rid of quite a few pedals soon...... Harmonic decoder, headrush, judder will probably be heading out the door.....
Yea, miniark is it's own thing like all of snazzys stuff. I liked it a lot. Can't go wrong there really. I really hope he gets back more into pedals again soon but I don't blame him for sticking with euro(and some of his new stuff looks cool).
I think the mother ship is a totally different approach...still kinda what to try that just to see how the ring mod is implemented hands on.

the ring mod was it's only saving grace really, if they could distill that down into a pedal of its own that tracks your playing and adjusts its frequency accordingly that would be all kinds of awesomeness.
Well, my mini ark arrived today. WOAH WTF HNNNGGFFFF :!!!::!!!:
It actually works better for me than the glitch computer as it will sustain the octave and interval for you automatically, so no more need to compress the crap out of my signal right at the start of the chain, and the mini ark glitches in a slightly tamer and more controllable way. Gotta sell the gc for the board real estate but will definitely miss, it's a lot filthier than the mini ark and is totally badass with a phaser after it.
