Re: Let's see your BASS VI, people
Mine is a custom made 30" Tele with Alumitone P90s, but the one I had before, with ordinary P90s, was just as deep and heavy. Granted, it doesn't feel like a pole-axe the way a P-Bass does, but I find myself cutting A LOT of lows on my amp. I don't see why a Squier shouldn't sound more or less the same, with proper strings, good setup and all that.

Although I don't see myself ever really enjoying playing baselines on one, my bass player mind is too into having four strings that are further apart.
Also, your VI sounds very cool, and gae86's looks incredible!

Thanks! Try a thumb pick. It'll take you 2-3 days to get used to it, but once you get the hang of it and start playing bass lines AND chords it'smonkeydancer wrote:Probably can!Bon Hoga wrote:Mine is a custom made 30" Tele with Alumitone P90s, but the one I had before, with ordinary P90s, was just as deep and heavy. Might give it a go and stop slagging them off on the internet.

Sincerely I don't have experience with other strings, other than D'addario it came with. I read a lot of raving reviews on OSG, so I decided to go with them!Chuckchuck wrote: Wow that came out great.

Ooo, nice idea! I have a thumb pick for pickin banjo and acoustic, but I hadn't thought of applying it to bass VI....Bon Hoga wrote:Thanks! Try a thumb pick. Re: Let's see your BASS VI, people
Mine now has a synth pickup.
Because reasons.

Otherwise, same as before, boring old Squier crappy burst with a TOPY sticker.

Re: Let's see your BASS VI, people
Did you guys have to file, drill, or replace the tuners to string up a .105 or .110? I couldn't get a .105 to fit in the tuning machine when I tried.BoatRich wrote:I did all of this as well and it's so worth it. I also put a Duncan quarter pounder in the bridge and an alumitone in the neck. I have it set up for drop c# with a .110 low string and it's perfect.monkeydancer wrote:I put heavier strings on, got a staytrem bridge and raised the action a bit, it's great now.
I'm not saying all these things are necessary, just it's what I did to the guitar for a variety of reasons
