Zoom B3 doesna mute clean signal

urrrrrrrrrr looks like i'm doing THE THINGS correctly, but in patches with a EFFECT and DRY knob, i can't go full effect. turning the dry doesn't do anything actually, boost or cut.

and on patches with the MIX knob, it cuts or boosts the effect volume, but does nothing for the clean.

anyyyyyyyyone have an idea what i'm doing wrong?

huh. there's a TOTAL section, which is sort of like a master screen for that patch or set of 3 effects? but if i set the balance there all the way to effect, then it will let me play with the balance in each of the three effects for that patch.

ODD. but...... works? dunno. weirrrrrrrrrrrrrd.
