VH140C distortion channel in a pedal!

Am I right to be excited about this or is it just a rehoused metal zone or something?

Well.
That was fucking rad.
Thanks, Chank!

I'm perfectly sane for just wanting this and an RV3, right?
Is that TOO 90s?
Fuck it I'm old, I don't care.

Also that's the first high gain distortion demo I've heard where the EQ seems to actually make a difference.

Demo contains Opeth (recorded with a tube laney), but no Suffocation? No Cannibal?

I have always kicked myself for not picking up a VH140C a few years back when I almost could have. I mean, it was for sale. and locally. But my bank account said "fuck no".
Aaaah... regrets!

It sounds cool, but I'm fairly certain I could get most of the way there tonewise with The Elements. Or a Digitech Death Metal (which is a super rad pedal). So my gas is only partially ignited. It's mostly ignited because I'm connecting the pedal with the myth of the VH140C.

Still - pcb looks nice, and it is encouraging the playing of brutal music, so I'm all for this!

Some Suffocation would have been nice, granted and I almost expected to hear it there, but I think it showed what the pedal is capable of.
I have a tube Laney.....I could sound like those sounds....

Not having either an Elements or DM means I can totally justify spending that much money to nail one sound.

That sounds rad. I feel like a get a really similar sound from my peavey solid state head when I slam it outrageously hard. Is this mostly for the cvlt coolness? Or am I missing something? I guess just agreeing with others that I think you can get to these tones cheaper and with more versatility.

It's more the fact that a bunch of iconic death metal albums were recorded with the amp this is based off.

Looks sweet.

Its basically like a rusty box for those of us who have fond memories of XXL tshirts, headbands and veganism. Like I can get similar tones to my rusty box with my amp and a pedal, but its still a useful tool to have.
