Kanye West vs. Bob Ezrin - Best Kanye Beef Of 2016 IMO

How many of you have heard, and what did you think?

I love it. Better than Yeezus, arguably better than Watch The Throne.

Production is gonna be labelled "experimental" but it's not, it just uses a lot of nice, retro synths.

Best thing about it is, he's returned to actually rapping. One song is an a capella rap and on another he wrote 90 bars.

First listen through and it's great. Best of 2016 so far for me.

For someone who is so aesthetically inclined to venture into fashion, his album art has been weak as fuck these past two records.

Respectfully disagree. Yeezus had great album art. A blank CD in a clear jewel case with only a red sticker to denote that it's anything other than... well, a blank CD in a clear jewel case. It's the next logical step in the chain after The Beatles/The White Album. Super minimalist. It only needed Kanye to promote itself, no art or anything necessary.

I'm not gonna talk out of my ass about this one, because, you know, it's not that great, but I do like that it addresses the obvious question right on the album cover. Which one? Escobar? Picasso? (Spoiler: neither. Apparently it's the Biblical Paul.)

Watch the Throne was not as good as Yeezus.
I haven't listened to this yet. I liked Yeezus though. I'll check it out eventually.

What I love about it is, he probably spent a million having that designed, and I perfectly replicated it in Paint, from scratch, in 25 minutes. I am not a graphic designer...

How long would it take you to write a song in the style of the Ramones?

A long time. I can't wrap my head around playing fast. Strictly slow... I like to hear the chords decay. Also, it's easy to do a shit version of early punk. It's hard to do it right. Johnny was a better guitarist than given credit for. I suck at punk guitar.

I liked Kanye's first couple of records.

Then as time went by, he quickly became the absolutely insufferable shithead he is today. When I hear his music now, all I hear is him throwing some asinine tantrum on Twitter. He's the aural equivalent of crabs.

Gimme Kendrick or Vince Staples any day.

That cover is great though.

I like the first couple of records okay, but I honestly prefer MBDTF and after. More interesting to me if not as composed.
