This ILF thing needs like buttons for lazy people like me. I'm not going to sit here & type LIKE every time someone posts a new pedal on the market or on their board, which will be every day.
Forgot what I was going to say: I have the same MXR M85. I considered flipping it for a minute but came to my senses. I need a bass distortion w/ separate dry & wet blends. So far, this one is tight. A proper EQ or tilt would've been nice but I'll keep it. Sadly, I realized the germanium fuzz isn't what I hoped for & have already traded away my lovely Mastotron to Mos. So the search for the right fuzz continues.

Goddamn, indeed. So @nshuman — do you have the Cali76 at the end of your chain? How do you find you typically use it? (I just got one, curious)

We don't do like buttons here because they are stupid and TB is stupid for adding them. We post things for the glory of showing we like it and you can suck it if you don't. hahaha.

Nah but really, likes are fucking dumb IMO. It's like a cool kids club. Yo dude, who's got the most likes. They must be the coolest person of all. Right?? :)

We are all breeders here. I breed all the time. Well, ok I'm married and my wife hates me now, but I try to. :(

We need to bring back the Wang Bar and have a boner button. I'm putting that in the suggestions thread.

The like button's kinda nice. It can definitely be pretty damn silly if you view it as some kind of popularity contest, but it is nice to have some sort of idea where you stand. I've been here for a year and still feel like a moron.

I don't care about the likes I receive. The like feature is just cool so you can say you like something quickly or signify that you are in agreement without typing. But, whatever, I don't care :)

I used to, but then I stopped because I used a UA 6176 as my preamp. Now, I stopped using the 6176, so I will begin using the Cali at the end again. I just use it with very light compression to add a nice fat tone enhancement at the end, but not HUGE amounts of squash or anything.

If I really want to squash everything, I use another compressor early in the chain.

Cool—I'll have to try that, seeing that I'm pretty much after the same sort of thing. I've been messing with it earlier in the chain and love it on its own, but haven't dug it pre-fuzz (have yet to spend much time messing with it pre-OD). It does sound really damn good just fattening things up, esp love the headroom switch on the back.

End of the chain does not work for all compressors obviously. Some just squash too much even at their lowest settings, or are not transparent enough, or too transparent. But I find that the Cali76tx and the FEA DE-CL do that job very well. The FEA DB-CL as well, but I think the DB-CL can do a lot more shaping so it is better at the beginning of the chain. When going into dirt, the DB-CL is cool because you can bypass compression on the highs and just round out the bottom. That way, you still get all the high end on your fuzzes, all the crazy sustain, but you still made the bottom a bit tighter.
