I think it's just a passive high-pass filter instead of the usual passive low-pass filter.

Baja tele neck is pretty fantastic, fat and feels nice but doesn't get in the way. Rest of the baja tele is nothing to write home about though imo. I replaced a lot of the electronics and hardware on mine.

Huh alright. Even if I typically don't like having knobs that do more than controlling volume, I might have to find a diagram so I can try that.DrMabuse wrote:The bass contour just gives you more colors to work with. My Sensei has fairly hot humbuckers. The bass contour can get me a more P90 sound. or even a passable Tele bridge pickup sound. On the P90 Reverend, it goes from aggressive P90 to sweet P90 to vintage strat as you roll the bass contour down. It won't give you infinite options, but it gets you close enough for government work, especially in a live situation where you don't want to haul multiple guitars.Swordfishtrombone wrote:What does the bass roll off knob actually do?

I like using the bass contour more than the normal tone because you can clean up the signal without reducing volume, so it's kind of like you can do stuff like reduce how much gain/drive you're putting out, or get more clarity if you have a muddy sound. And it's not like you are simply adding treble. Very handy. I've basically never use volume or regular tone but use the bass roll off quite a lot.
