Digitech Whammy IV

Post by Connor »

so.
I bought a digitech whammy on CL like a year ago. and it was all good. i thought it was a little different from the demo videos i've seen but i didnt think much of it.
and then i watched some today, and realized that my pedal doesnt bend notes correctly. in harmony modes it just bends down a half step, and thats it. in the octive modes it just bends down a half or whole step rather than an octive or two or whatever.
i feel jipped,
have any of you run into this or know how i should go about repairing it / buying a new one?

I had the same problem with a dd6 i bought from GC.it died after only 4 months..ok i might have plugged the wrong power supply to it :idk:
but if its still in new looking condition just buy a new one and return the broken one (usually have 14 days return policy).
you're not really screwing them over since they will just eventually send it back as damaged to the company..plus its friggin GC
i think Mr. Romney will survive.

I used to have the whammy, I suggect you remove the rubber feet, and then recalibrate it.
Longer tread, stays in tune better, and in general sounds a bit better.

It really does work, made my whammy sound amazing
If the clacking sound of metal hitting metal when you move the treadle is too much for you, there is always the option of putting Velcro on top of the whammy itself where the very front and back of the treadle make contact in order to muffle the sound. :thumb:

Helpful thread! I've wanted to try a Digitech Whammy for a long time, but always got scared away by some of the complaints online...but I think this thread has me wanting to go for it.
