I've always been a fan of Tristan Perich's 1-bit Symphony. The idea was that the listener would be present during the creation of the music by making it generated via programming versus a recording.

Be that as it may, it is more of a convenience thing really. They are not always cheaper, but they have pretty much everything, so I don't need to have accounts all over the web. I hate that shit. I bought a Pierre Schaeffer box set from some store in France that Amazon didn't have and I had to create an account for this store that I know I will never use again. That shit pisses me off.

Back on topic, wind harps are cool. I saw a similar video to the ones below once where giant tubes where placed near an ocean and it created these beautiful drones. If anyone knows WTF I am talking about, please post it.

I really, really, really love Ciat-Lonbarde stuff. The only draw about them is just how insanely expensive they are. Maybe one day I'll own a DEARcocoDEER, but spending $2k for these is pretty crazy even though they're incredibly intricate designs.

I love Ciat Lonbarde stuff. I've actually been considering selling all my modular and buying a few of them. It's really not that insanely expensive considering everything that it does. I always wanted a PB2 and Coco, but that video just sold me on the Cidrax too

I guess if we're talking weird devices, it doesn't get weirder than stem cell research making a human neural network that improvises with musicians. I just found out about this, and it is the COOLEST FUCKING THING.
