mainly different footswitches, that's the most important thing for me, either soft switches or maybe an arcade button for handheld use. an expression out for delay time would be pretty sick too. in my dream world I would have a foot roller for the time knob. also maybe being able to give it extra headroom would be cool so I could slam it harder.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Bought a pedal from a guy on Reverb a week ago. Sent him a message 24 hours ago wondering if he had an update for me since I haven't gotten a tracking number or any shipping notice. The message has been read 7-8 hours ago, but still no reply. He has eight positive reviews, but I'm still not cool with waiting a week for something to ship and getting ignored when asking what's up. If something has come up that prevent you from shipping, fine, but at least keep me posted. Bah!

Yeah I'm pretty into it for sure.Inconuucl wrote:I want that new Flex XS by mantic. I need a chaos button on my board.
I've been trying for so long to get my gain stage game on point. It seems like the part I've had the most trouble with is the always-on low gain OD. I can't seem to find something that adds the right amount of grit and sparkle to lighter picking parts that doesn't sound gross when I play hard. The fuck was great but it kind of had a weird farty quality when I would play harder. I'm really hoping the Rangemaster-type pedal I have incoming will do the trick. My Mini basically does it but I want to use it at gnarlier settings.

Circuit bent a Joyo flanger to create misty cave-like resonance echoes, some srr-ish sounds and even a pretty strange sounding distortion. This could turn into a new hobby.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
i would say rangemaster type pedal is gonna be a lot better for that, especially if you're pushing a tube preamp. as much as i like the fuck/mini circuit there's a certain 'sag' to it (which is entirely the point but not the sort of sound i would have always-on personally, better as a drive channel). you just hear more of the sparkly frequencies when the amp compresses the harder dynamic playing, it's nice. if i still played tube amps i'd get another Sparkle Motion.neonblack wrote:I've been trying for so long to get my gain stage game on point. i think that's pretty natural for the lower gain, normal tone to be the most difficult to get sounding right, like i can *almost* understand why people go all TGP over OD pedals.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
Right? It's also hard sometimes when it comes to stacking. Like I don't want to change the character of the other dirt I'm using too much and stuff like the Mini has so much character of its own, anything i stack into the Mini just sounds like a boosted Mini. And boosting other dirt can sometimes make it act funny. I want something I can leave at the end of the chain that is mostly transparent but adds some grit and sparkle. Basically I want something that sounds good for clean-ish palm muting with spring reverb so it needs to have that little high end plink but then still have enough gain to sound good when I wanna dig in. Treble booster seems like the best bet. I was considering the EQD Bows until this deal came along.

That's honestly my next step if this rangemaster doesn't work out. Arc Effects maybe...
