So, I've learned that the FF has split personalities depending on whether you place it first or after a buffered pedal. However, I'd like to know from experienced users if placing it after a TB pedal would cause it to react all crazy.
Context: I'm getting in a bypassed way that I'm considering putting in front of the FF to get that crazy J&MC/Ride-esque kRaZy treble boost...

I think it might fuck with it a bit when you turn the TB-pedal on, but not when it's bypassed. I used to run the FF after a buffer sometimes, though. Kinda like those squishy sounds, though you can't change the oscillation pitch with your guitars volume knob when it's after a buffer. Just experiement with it and see what you think?
When you deal with crazy fuzz, I find it useful to forget all "rules" and just have fun.

Agreed. It does act differently, but it's still a great sound either way. I've heard placing it first 'loads your pickups,' but I don't know if that's true, or even what it means.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

Basically the circuit is very similar to old school FF/TB fuzzes. It's electrically tuned to the high output impedance of guitar pickups. Putting something low impedance into the input basically makes the circuit lose its shit.Invisible Man wrote:Agreed. It does act differently, but it's still a great sound either way. To the OP: Having tried it out the best way to put it is WAY more treble, almost no bass to speak of, and the oscillation doesn't behave normally either. It does the same thing with low impedance active pickups
