It sounds brilliant! the gain knob is interesting actually, because for the first 3/4 its very fuzz face like, much like a very strong OD pedal but after that it gets much tighter and sounds huge, and then you move it up to full and its like another layer of hugeness is added to it.
Highly recommend it, it can get incredibly synthey sounding and gets a lovely black keys "strange times" tone with the gain up near to full.

I've only ever heard clips of the Roger Mayer fuzzstuffs, but I remember the Axis sounding especially good. Not just for lettin' loose the Jimi either. Nice score!
it could be a MIT actually... i can't remember, but my mate has the other one (i think he was the MIJ) and they really do sound indentical... never really made a difference to me. Either way it sounds brilliant . . . very marshally.

Yeah, your one is the MIT one. I gave him the MIT HM-2 for his birthday. They sound exactly the same. My MIJ one sucks battery faster (though the voltage sag sound is so damn cool, and starts getting an octave sound) and the LED is shittier though (the MIT was NOS though and I got it for £20 ).
