bypass / fx looper pedals

Post by chrisdermo »

Hey,

I'm looking to get a single bypass looper / fx looper pedal to use with my Bugbrand Audioweevil08, and looking around it seems some are powered and some aren't, some are £15 others are £90?
Firstly - why would you need a powered fx looper? Surely it's just a switch that puts the fx loop in and out of the circuit?
Secondly - is there a reason why some are so expensive? Do the cheap ones have bleed problems?

Help! :idk:

You need power for LED indicators or buffers. I have a true bypass / feedback looper I bought off here that's passive. I think I paid $30us shipped or maybe less. One foot switch to bypass, one to engage feedback and a knob to control the amount of feedback. Works great.
good dealings here:

I did wonder if it was just for the LEDs, but hadn't thought about buffers.
I'll have a browse of the bst forum thanks!
